An English-bodied Buick – request for information

Henk van der Veen is a member of CONAM, our motoring history friends in the Netherlands, and has sent us these two pictures with a request: can anyone give Henk more information about his 1931 Buick with rather special one-off coachwork by The Mayfair Carriage Company?

The first picture shows Henk’s car nowadays.  The second picture is from “Seventy Years of Buick”, page 134, and shows the same car with the UK registration number GW 5704, possibly in the early 1960s (from the look of the car behind, and the clothes):

All information on the history of this car in the UK will be most gratefully received – either in the Comments field below this post, or by email to the webmaster: peter.moss12@btinternet.com

Thank you in advance!
