SLIDER: 1928 Amilcar G-Type Montlhéry

We admit that we are flummoxed by the size of the engine in this G-Type Amilcar – 4,939cc – but the official VSCC entry lists place it in the ‘Racing Cars over 3000cc’ category.  We can find no reference to the car or its engine in Georgano, on the internet or in Gilles Fournier’s book.

We should be grateful for any information on what seems to be a very serious racing car.

This picture of Ian Bingham’s car was taken on 2 July 2017 at the MAC/VSCC Shelsley Walsh hill climb.
