It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Tom Threlfall, who died peacefully at home on Tuesday 9th February.
Tom was President of the Vintage Sports-Car Club from 1981-1984, having previously served as Editor of the VSCC Bulletin, 1973-1979, and was also winner of the Lycett Memorial Trophy on four occasions, in 1978, 1979, 1982 and 1983.
Tom was the force behind The Automobile Magazine’s “Automobiles in Action” column for many years. He was a familiar sight driving his Model A Ford and, more to the point, each year in November drove to Cumbria in the car to attend the VSCC Lakeland Trial.
Tom was also a trustee of the Michael Sedgwick Memorial Trust for a number of years until 2010.
A funeral service will take place at All Saints Church, Compton, Winchester on Friday 19 February at 11am. No flowers please but donations welcome to The Brain Tumour Charity c/o Richard Steel & Partners, Winchester; please call 01962 862333 or visit http://tom.threlfall.muchloved.com/.
The SAHB would like to extend its deepest sympathy to Tom’s wife, Di and all the family.
