THE AUTOMOBILE MANUFACTURING Co. Ltd. ‘AN UPDATE’.

In 2011, the SAHB reprinted a rare publication called The Automobile Handbook & Guide. Originally published in November 1900, this landscape style, 48pp document, about 12 x 8 inches in size (300 x 210mm), was effectively a sales brochure for The Automobile Manufacturing Company Limited (AMCo). It illustrated a large number of motorcars and tricycles, and interestingly made numerous, what appear to be implausible declarations of the quality of the marketplace, and the prowess of the product. Before this reprint was issued in a limited edition of 150, AMCo., was unknown to many to include me. So spurred by inquisitiveness, I started to investigate further, and have recorded my findings in a four-page illustrated document that complements the aforementioned The Automobile Handbook & Guide reprint.

Copies of this ‘Update’ can now be purchased for £4 including postage, all income going to SAHB funds.
